Meals and Housing
Students have the option of residing in either the dormitories or the campground. The comfortable barracks-style dormitories have two separate wings accommodating 20 men and 20 women each. Single bunk beds are separated by dividers that also provide spacious storage of personal belongings. Bathroom and shower facilities are immediately adjacent. The CMU Campground is located a short walk from the main buildings and contains cabins and tenting campsites, all with electricity. The centrally located restroom facility houses toilets and hot showers.

Meals at CMU Biological Station have long enjoyed a reputation for both their excellence and nutrition. Buffet-style meals are served in a spacious dining room overlooking Lake Michigan. |
Dormitory and campground cabin residents are required to take the full meal plan. Campers using CMU campsites in the CMU campground have the option of taking the full-meal plan, or cooking their own meals, which must be cooked and eaten in the campground. Campers electing to cook their own meals will be charged the weekly camping fee but have the option of taking occasional meals in the cafeteria for which they will be charged by the meal (see student rates).
All students at CMUBS must provide their own linens (or sleeping bags), soap and
towels. Pillows, mattress pads and blankets are available on request, as needed.
Coin-operated washers and dryers are conveniently located near the dormitories
and in the campground.
